Fill a suitable vessel with hot water, place one pod in and let the water darken before you lean in. Use 350 to 400 ml of water to a pod. The time and the water for the bowl or cup and for the portable electric kettle are on The Ritual.
In both methods, wait for the blend to steep before inhaling — the first rising steam is only hot water.
Closed, upright, away from sunlight, heat and damp — a badly kept pod smells of less. Every box carries the guide.
No. Inhalation of vapour only — never swallowed, brewed or cooked with. Discard the water once the ritual or day ends.
No. If it touches the skin, rinse with cool water.
Not in pregnancy or breastfeeding without a doctor's advice. Not for children — keep the box out of reach.
Asthma, chronic respiratory illness, fragrance-triggered migraine or a known sensitivity: see a doctor. Anyone under medical care for a sleep condition should continue it.
The hot water is the principal hazard: a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from edges, children and animals, never moved once filled. Lean in from a safe distance, never directly above or head-tented over it — the vapour should feel warm, never hot.
Responses vary. On any irritation, headache, dizziness or skin reaction, stop, move to fresh air, and see a doctor if it persists.
